INTRODUCTION

It is undeniable that one of the Philippines' most serious problems is poverty, and the first victims of that poverty will be the children. In truth, child poverty in the Philippines is extremely prevalent, at 31.4 percent in 2015. Given that 33 percent of Filipino children are already malnourished, an increase in this statistic might have potentially disastrous consequences for their livelihoods. Furthermore, 27 percent of the population resides in metropolitan areas. For people living in poverty, this means crowded living quarters and a lack of clean water and sanitation. In 2011, 25% of the Filipino population did not have access to better sanitation. These considerations make social distance and other disease-prevention strategies more difficult to implement In recent years, the Philippines has made significant progress in combating poverty. The poverty rate in the country fell by 5% between 2015 and 2018. According to the World Bank, this decline is unlikely to persist following the pandemic's economic impacts. As a result, the country may see negative economic growth.

PURPOSE

Young Focus thus gives children with educational opportunities as well as opportunities to grow academically, emotionally, and mentally. Young Focus encourages students to discover and develop their hidden skills so that they can achieve their maximum potential. Giving the most disenfranchised children in the Smoky Mountain area the chance to reach their full potential via access to education, personal development, and employment opportunities.

DESCRIPTION

Young Focus provides opportunities for poor children and young people to grow intellectually, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually through education and personal coaching. Young Focus wishes to see young people develop their (hidden) abilities and gifts in order to break out of the poverty cycle. Young Focus helps children from impoverished homes in the Philippines have a better future. Young Focus works directly with children in their natural surroundings in order to be as effective as possible. Young Focus enrolls students in government education from elementary school to college, including extra tutorials, life skills instruction, and personal coaching. Children who have missed school can participate in our 'catch-up' education programs and subsequently return to school. Young Focus also runs a preschool for children aged 3 to 4. Young Focus works with parents throughout their child's education, providing teaching and coaching programs.
